A guide to good practice
Supporting exhibitors
to make events more sustainable
Since 1993, Palexpo has been doing its utmost to reduce the impact of its activities on the environment and involves all its employees in this approach. As a pioneer in sustainable development, Palexpo works with partners and suppliers who have a genuine sustainable development policy. It encourages and supports its customers in holding sustainable events. A guide to good practice, covering key themes such as waste management, sustainable transport and energy efficiency, is available to exhibitors to encourage them to adopt environmentally-friendly practices when taking part in an event. Here is an extract:
Limit waste, favour recyclable and recycled materials
- Use a reusable stand structure
- Limit the distribution of paper and favour digital solutions
- Limit the distribution of goodies and favour objects that can be reused over the long term
Favour public transport and local suppliers
- Choose the least energy-consuming option for getting to Palexpo
- Choose a company with good sustainability credentials, particularly for logistics and goods transport
Reduce energy consumption
- Opting for energy-efficient equipment such as LED lighting
- Efficiently managing the power supply to stands, thanks to the new intelligent lighting system
Through its various actions, Palexpo is demonstrating its commitment to sustainable development and its desire to include all its stakeholders in its approach.
