| | 25 years: is it still "young" or is it already “old”? |

 | As you will know: PALEXPO was inaugurated on December 18, 1981 – proudly displaying the epithet "New" Exhibition and Congress Centre in its sub-title.
Twenty-five years later we are still proud of this infrastructure which has since doubled its surface area, received about 35 million visitors and seen the creation, holding and development of so many new or traditional, global, international or regional events in Geneva.
The question we can ask ourselves is: "Are we 25 years old or 25 years young?”.
Everything is relative: I know some very sprightly sixty-year olds just as I know some wizened teenagers …
Now that we have finished growing – to about 102,000 sq. metres currently -, we have to keep in shape through maintenance, technical improvements, or even conversion works in order to constantly adapt to market requirements. Apart from what has already been achieved, we have many projects in progress - in order to offer improved quality, even if the surface area will not be larger.
To stay young, one also has to remain in the forefront of progress by providing ever more efficient services, such as electronic ticketing or on-line services, for example.
In the end it’s a question of our mindset, and I am fortunate to be able to rely on a team who harmoniousy blend experience and dynamism.
So let’s say that we are in the prime of life, and that on the occasion of this 25th anniversary, although we are looking round to see the distance we have travelled, it is above all towards the future that we are turning our gaze, by expressing the wish to continue the journey with you, loyal customers, partners and suppliers!
